In Mid-Life Confidential, the original members of the Rock Bottom Remainders tell the story of how they came to be, and their epic "Three Chords and an Attitude" tour from Boston to Miami in 1993. It all started in 1991 with a series of faxes (faxes!) from Kathi Kamen Goldmark to some of her favorite authors about forming a rock band and performing at an American Booksellers Association convention. Each band member then takes a turn sharing their experiences, in chapters titled "I'll Take the Blame" (Goldmark), "From Acid to Antacid" (Al Kooper), "I Dreamed I Danced with Stephen King in Kathi Goldmark's Maidenform Bra" (Dave Marsh), and "I Didn't Get Paid Enough" (Tabitha King, tour photographer), among others. This book isn't easy to find, but worth the search -- get ready for a rare appearance by the Rock Bottom Remainders at the Nantucket Book Festival on June 18!
