Nantucket Book Festival Final Schedule and Ticketed Events Released

April 17, 2016 by Nantucket Book Festival

NANTUCKET – April 18, 2016: The 5th annual Nantucket Book Festival, to be hosted June 17-19, has released its 2016 schedule, including ticketed events with Alice Hoffman, Ann Leary, Geraldine Brooks, Jack Gantos, Elin Hilderbrand, Nancy Thayer, Michael Ruhlman, and Billy Collins.

The closing program of the Festival, “Book to Film”, will also be a ticketed event at the Nantucket Historical Association’s Whaling Museum, signaling the end of the Book Festival and the beginning of the Nantucket Film Festival. This year’s event will feature Nathaniel Philbrick, Diane Ackerman, and Marlon James.

Over 80% of the Nantucket Book Festival’s events are free and open to the public. Ticketed events are integral in paying for Festival expenses as well as providing audiences with unique opportunities to hear and interact with their favorite authors.

Ticketed events include a Friday morning breakfast with Alice Hoffman and Ann Leary; lunch at the Nantucket Yacht Club with Diane Ackerman; Saturday breakfast with Newbery medal winner Jack Gantos (free for children); lunch at the Straight Wharf Restaurant with Elin Hilderbrand and Nancy Thayer; lunch with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Geraldine Brooks; a cooking demonstration at the new Nantucket Culinary Center by Michael Ruhlman; and Sunday morning breakfast at the White Elephant’s Brant Point Grill with Billy Collins. Cisco Brewers will host a “Cisco Send-Off” on Sunday afternoon to celebrate the authors and volunteers who make the Festival possible.
