The Author Dinner, presented by Nantucket Island Resorts, is the perfect ending to a day filled with inspiring author conversations. The award-winning food, the iconic harbor setting, and the palpable energy of great conversations between authors and guests create an atmosphere I hate to leave every year.
Last year, I rallied the gumption of a poli sci major and posed some sophomoric questions about the fate of the world’s oceans to Carl Safina, renowned ecologist and producer of PBS’ “Saving the Oceans”. Had he presented at a formal workshop, I would have never approached him. Yet at the Dinner, in such a relaxed environment, it felt comfortable to do so. He and his wife were happy to spend loads of time breaking down their answers into morsels I could understand. It was a most unique and special conversation.
