Susan Orlean

The Library Book is a tribute to an institution that Susan Orlean considers formative to her love of reading and writing, and to the magic and stability libraries bring to our culture. It is also a formidable history of one library system, the Los Angeles Public Library, and of the mystery and near tragedy of the great fire at its main branch in 1986. Orlean describes herself as a journalist, author, dog owner, gardener, parent, and "once in a blue moon movie inspiration and doodler”. She brings a wealth of experience with her to our stage.
