Amy Adams

Amy Adams Picture

Amy Adams grew up in New England, spending each summer on the outer beaches of Cape Cod. After earning her master’s degree in marine policy, she migrated to Florida. Working as an environmental writer, Amy recognized a notable shift in the public’s perception of sharks since Peter Benchley’s 1974 novel Jaws. She also found very little non-scientific reading material publicly available to effectively learn about the species and its sometimes-tangled relationship with people. Seeking to fill this gap, she wrote the novel Tagged to provide shark conservation information imbedded in an engaging story format. To increase financial support for white shark scientific research and understanding, Amy donates a portion of her profits from Tagged to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, a non-profit organization established to support white shark research and education programs to ensure that this important species thrives.
