JODY REDHAGE, cellist, composer, vocalist, is a passionate advocate of creative new music and chamber music. She has premiered over 100 works, including almost 30 that she has commissioned for her voice, cello, and electronics, from some of today's most talented composers. That commissioning project has resulted in two notable albums, All in a Summer Day (2007) and Of Minutiae and Memory (2011). She also writes music for her chamber band Rose and the Nightingale, whose debut album Spirit in the Garden was released in May. Her calling card here was a solo project she pursues, creating musical settings for the poems of living American poets, which she sings, accompanying herself on cello.
