Local resident Steven Axelrod holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College of the Fine Arts and remains a member of the Writers Guild of America. Poisoned Pen Press publishes the Henry Kennis Nantucket mystery series -- Nantucket Sawbuck in 2015, Nantucket Five-Spot last year, and this summer’s Nantucket Grand. A Christmas-themed mystery is due in 2017. Axelrod has also published a dark noir thriller, Heat of the Moment, with Gutter Books. Excerpts ran recently on Nikki Finke’s Hollywood Dementia website. Axelrod’s work has also appeared on line at Salon.com, Numero Cinq, The GoodMen project and the Atticus Books Blog.
