Alicia Carney is an avid nonfiction reader and is passionate about enriching one’s life through ongoing, self-motivated pursuit of knowledge for personal development. She especially enjoys reading and collecting business strategy and leadership books written by the world’s most brilliant business minds.

Alicia is from a small coastal community on the South Shore of Boston and has been visiting Nantucket for more than 30 years. She moved to the island in 2017 and is the Director of Programming & Special Events for The Nantucket Dreamland Foundation. Prior to moving to Nantucket, Alicia held a senior leadership position with Yale University, designing and producing the university’s special events.

Alicia is an Executive Board Member for the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce and a member of many committees including the Chamber’s Nantucket Island Center for Entrepreneurship Education Committee and the Young Professionals Group. She is very active with various community organizations and is thrilled to join the Nantucket Book Festival this year as a new committee member.
