Barbara Ann White is a fellow at the Nantucket Historical Association and a teacher for 30 years. She is the author of A Line In The Sand – The Battle to Integrate Nantucket Public Schools 1825 – 1847 and Live To Tell The Truth: The Life And Times Of Cyrus Peirce. Her new book, Disturber of Tradition: A Portrait of Anna Gardner, will be published in June.
