Christopher Lydon began his career as a journalist, covering city and state politics for The Boston Globe and presidential campaigns for The New York Times. He anchored, and later co-anchored, The 10 O'clock News at WGBH-TV in Boston from 1977 until the show's demise in 1991. With produce Mary McGrath, Lydon co-founded and was the original host of The Connection, a popular call-in show on Boston's WBUR that covered an immense range of subjects and was syndicated in 75 stations nationwide. Since 2005 he has been host of Radio Open Source, "an American conversation with global attitude, on the arts, humanities, and global affairs," vis streaming radio and podcasts.
