Daniel Menaker worked for 26 years at The New Yorker Magazine, after which he became an editor at Random House and eventually was named Editor-in-Chief. He has worked with Salman Rushdie, Michael Chabon, Michael Cunningham, Elmore Leonard, Jonathan Kellerman, Elizabeth Strout, Colum McCann, Jennifer Egan, Daniel Silva, Billy Collins, and many others. Menaker has written seven books, two of them New York Times Notable titles and one of them the basis of a movie called "The Treatment" with Ian Holm and Famke Janssen. He has also written humor and articles, reviews, and essays for many publications including, most prominently, The New Yorker.
